As a shareholder of one of the fourteen Stonewood Cottages, you’ll enjoy the perfect combination of independent living and easy access to everything going on next door at Bartlett House. You’re welcome to join exercise classes, attend lectures and concerts, and use the library. You also have an open invitation to enjoy a meal in the dining room whenever you desire.
A modern, barrier-free home
Your cottage will have a living room, two bedrooms, 1-1/2 bathrooms, a four-season sunroom, private deck, and attached garage. You’ll never be bothered with such chores as lawn maintenance, leaf raking, snow shoveling, and trash removal, as they’ll all be taken care of. Sewer, water, and property taxes are also included in the monthly homeowner’s fee, which is one of the lowest in Maine and all of New England.
“We love having our own cottage, but the best part is living in this wonderful community.” — Don and Sylvia, Cottage Owners of eight years
We are currently adding 24 new one- and two-bedroom apartments! With spacious rooms and well-planned layouts, they will include such extra conveniences as walk-in showers and washer/dryers. Priority reservations are being taken now. Don’t miss out! Come see us and sign up now for your new home at Bartlett House.
We even have our own resident dog, Independence. She is full of love and spends lots of time with our residents
When you choose Bartlett Woods, you are choosing a caring, intimate retirement community – one of the smallest in the state – where the number-one mission is to make it as easy as possible for you to live well. That’s because we are a nonprofit community, run by a volunteer board of directors made up of local men and women. Everything we do is for you – not for profit.
This is the only retirement community choice in Maine that offers a complete spectrum of lifestyle options – from independent living to assisted living – all in one warm, stable, and homelike environment. When you make an apartment at Bartlett Woods your home, you can relax in the wonderful knowledge that, should you need more help in the future, you won’t be asked to move to a different part of the building. We will provide you with whatever help you request right in your apartment. We do not believe in separating people from their friends and spouses just because their needs for assistance increase.
